Essential Functions

• Promotes a patient and family-centered care environment through professional and courteous interactions with patients, families, visitors, and hospital staff.
• Provides orientation and wayfinding assistance to patients, families, and guests.
• Demonstrates knowledge of hospital services, department locations, procedures, and patient care resources.
• Directs patients, families, and visitors to appropriate services and support resources.
• Independently transports patients and assists with patient transfers as needed.
• Verifies patient identity using two approved patient identifiers.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort during transport and transfers, including the use of appropriate safety measures and support devices.
• Adheres to all special handling and precaution requirements when transporting patients with specific clinical needs or isolation precautions.

• Must constantly be alert and attentive to progress of O.R. schedule to meet tight deadlines.
