Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Night shift in the Acute Care Surgery unit in Richmond, VA. This part-time role supports nursing staff by providing direct, age-appropriate patient care and maintaining a safe, clean care environment.

Ideal candidates will hold a CNA/EMT/MA certification or Nursing Aide training with BLS. Candidates must be able to work nights, handle high-stress situations, and communicate effectively with the health care team.

Qualifications

• Certification or completion of one of the listed nursing aide, medical support, or EMT programs.
• BLS/CPR-ALCS certification or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct patient care in assigned unit under RN or licensed practitioner.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to healthcare team.
• Assist with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked patient-care environment.
• Record patient information (vital signs, intake/output, height/weight, etc.) and update records per policy.
