This full-time role supports the Surgery Department in anesthesia and treatment, with collaboration alongside board-certified specialists and cross-training opportunities.

Qualifikationen

• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in good standing in Virginia.

Aufgaben

• Perform animal nursing procedures including restraint, postop care, catheterization, wound management, and bandaging.
• Assist veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures including preparation, anesthesia, monitoring, and recovery care.
• Perform emergency and critical care nursing tasks such as CPR, fluids, oxygen, and blood transfusions.
• Conduct diagnostic and laboratory procedures including microbiology, cytology, hematology, serology, and urinalysis.
• Manage clinical diagnostic tools for blood pressure, ECG, oximetry, and imaging protocols.
• Collect and prepare specimens for lab evaluation and ensure maintenance of lab equipment.
• Maintain accurate medical records in Instinct and our practice management software.
• Educate clients about pet care, follow-up treatments, and prescribed meds.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment; manage surgical materials and lab equipment.
• Support a team-oriented approach by fostering positive relationships with coworkers and clients.
