Job summary

Herndon Animal Medical Center in Herndon, VA is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our day team. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no nights or weekends and an hourly pay range of $25–$31 based on experience.

You will work closely with veterinarians through exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, and patient care, delivering compassionate medical service. We value clear communication, teamwork, and ongoing professional development, including CE support and license

Qualifications

• Current Virginia LVT license (required).
• Experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting.
• Ability to lift and restrain pets as needed.
• Comfort with computers and practice management software.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with doctors through appointments, exams, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, give injections, and administer medications.
• Run point on anesthesia: prepping patients, monitoring vitals, and recovery guidance.
• Assist with surgical prep and dental procedures; maintain sterility and safety.
• Take radiographs/dental x‑rays and help interpret imaging with the doctor.
• Run in-house labs and prep samples for reference labs; ensure accurate results.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate status changes to the doctor.
