Job summary

Companion Animal Clinic is a full-service veterinary hospital in Fairfax Station, Virginia. We are seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician for a full-time role focused on surgery, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, and busy treatment flow within a collaborative team that values high standards and technician utilization.

Qualifications

• Virginia LVT license preferred; or transferable RVT/CVT license within 6 months.
• Experience in surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, and busy treatment flow.
• Strong client communication and multitasking in a fast-paced hospital.
• Proficiency with veterinary software and medical documentation.
• Ability to lift and restrain animals of varying sizes.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia and vitals.
• Support dentistry procedures including cleanings and radiographs.
• Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients and administer medications.
• Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and maintain records.
• Communicate treatment plans and updates to clients.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and staff to maintain workflow.
