Job summary

MedVet is seeking a collaborative Surgery Veterinary Credentialed Technician to join our fast-paced team. The role involves surgical prep, patient management, and close coordination with surgeons and clients to communicate treatment plans and costs.

Responsibilities include medication preparation, record keeping and post-operative care guidance, plus operating room upkeep and instrument maintenance. A State Registered Veterinary Technician license is required, with prior surgery experience

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician required.
• Prior veterinary experience preferred, especially in surgery.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions).

Responsibilities

• Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, medical records, invoicing, discharges.
• Fill medications, enter charges, maintain medical records, schedule appointments.
• Create patient releases and discuss treatment plans and costs with clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery: shaving, scrubbing, positioning; assist with intubation and radiographs.
• Perform blood draws and submit bloodwork.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
• Open, turn over and clean operating rooms; clean instruments and pack wraps.
