Job summary

ChristianaCare in Wilmington and Newark, DE, seeks a Surgical NP or PA for its Surgery Department in a full-time day role with a Monday–Friday schedule and weekend coverage about every four to five weeks. Call every ten days, plus one holiday and one holiday weekend per year.

The candidate will provide operative care for surgical patients, along with preoperative and postoperative care, wound management, drains, and discharge planning, under the surgical service team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a NP or PA accredited program.
• Acute Care NP required with a RNFA certification.
• Must be licensed or license eligible in Delaware.
• Two years' experience in operating room and inpatient management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to surgical patients as part of the surgical service team, including operative assistance.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including examinations, wound care, drains, and discharges.
• Assist in positioning and draping, and write postoperative orders.
• Positioning, draping, first/second assisting and postoperative order writing.

Are you a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner that is looking for a challenge and to be part of an innovative team? ChristianaCare is recruiting for a Surgical NP or PA to work within our Surgery Department at both hospital campuses in Wilmington and Newark. This is a full-time day position with a Monday - Friday schedule with a weekend requirement averaging every four or five. Call is required at once every ten days. Holiday on-call requirement is one holiday and one holiday weekend each year.

The qualified candidate will provide care to surgical patients, as a member of the surgical service team, primarily functioning in the operative care of surgical patients as assigned, including positioning, draping, first or second assisting and postoperative order writing.

Additional responsibilities include providing preoperative and postoperative care to surgical patients, including examination, wound care, care of drains, and discharges.

Annual Compensation Range $119,583.00 - $153,472.00

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
