The Surgery Service Representative 1 assists with all pre-operative preparations with the goal of ensuring an excellent healthcare experience for patients. Additionally, the Surgery Service Representative 1 acts as a liaison between the patient, surgeon, primary care physician, and the surgical facilities.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Assists with the maintenance of operating room schedules and reconciles schedules to records.
  • Reviews records to ensure compliance with the case management system and office guidelines.
  • Codes records with all necessary information for charge entry, on a daily basis.
  • Verifies insurance information and takes appropriate steps to obtain any missing information.
  • Maintains an organized record of charges by batching patient records by date of service.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
