Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least two years of related medical office experience.
• Prior referral and authorization experience.
• Demonstrated punctuality, reliability, and professionalism.
• Prior surgery scheduling experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task effectively and maintain attention to detail.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes a plus.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems, Allscripts a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for new and returning patients and surgeries, procedures, and colonoscopies.
• Provide administrative assistance to physicians and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Coordinate communication with staff, patients, physicians, and the Practice Leader.
• Greet patients and provide high-quality customer service; prepare patient packets for registration and prep information.
• Maintain waiting room order and clean exam rooms; report facility problems.
• Lead projects to establish standardized scheduling practices organization-wide; may work across multiple locations.
