Job summary

Blanchard Valley Health System is seeking a Pre-Surgery Scheduling Coordinator to manage provider surgery schedules, perform pre-certifications, and coordinate pre-surgery testing and results. The role includes educating patients, coordinating with the surgical department and supply representatives, and ensuring complete pre-operative data.

The position emphasizes strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work across BVHP Practices as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; strong service orientation.
• Ability to work at a computer for long periods and operate a keyboard/mouse efficiently.
• May require work at multiple BVMP Practices as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage provider's surgery schedules.
• Pre-certify all surgeries and coordinate pre-surgery testing and results.
• Educate patient/family about procedures and recovery.
• Coordinate with surgery department and surgical supply representatives.
• Validate patient demographics and insurance/second opinion processes.
• Assure completeness of pre-operative data.
• Provide peri-operative education to patient/family.
• Notify relevant departments of preparatory interventions and treatments.
• Participate in education planning and complete competency programs.
• Promote a positive image of the department and organization.
