Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years experience in health care; 1+ year in surgery scheduling preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; handle stress.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgeries and manages scheduling information.
• Answers phone and assists physician offices and patients promptly.
• Performs pre-registration and obtains physician authorization for surgery.
• Maintains logs for cancelled appointments.
• Performs clerical duties: photocopying, mailing, chart prep, faxes.
• Keeps scheduling area clean and orderly; verifies all cases.
• Communicates payment policies and options to patients.
• Documents insurance verification and patient calls in the accounts.
