• Minimum of one year working in medical insurance or healthcare related field.

Responsibilities

• Triage surgical candidates with physicians.
• Verify insurance information in the electronic system and obtain necessary authorizations prior to surgery.
• Schedule patient for pre-operative labs, testing and coordination of post-operative care.
• Educate patients about planned surgery.
• Work with surgeons to obtain medical clearances and preoperative testing as required by hospital protocols.
• Interact with appropriate hospital personnel to obtain information for surgery scheduling.
• Confirm and reschedule return appointments; notify manager of patient account and insurance issues.
• Provide assistance to administrative or clinical staff, and other duties as assigned.
