Job summary

TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati is seeking a Part Time Surgery Scheduling Coordinator for Pre-Surgical Services. The role coordinates elective and urgent procedures, arranges pre-admission testing, and serves as a liaison to ensure efficient patient flow and seamless scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules elective and urgent surgical procedures using strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proactively anticipates, coordinates, and manages schedule changes with minimal direction.
  • Obtains and verifies accurate case information from surgeon preference cards, sales representatives, surgeons, and physician office staff.
  • Coordinates case requirements and surgical information with the Operating Room and other ancillary departments to ensure readiness for procedures.
  • Documents surgeon complaints and concerns and follows through on problem-solving efforts to accommodate scheduling preferences whenever possible.
  • Maintains effective communication and positive working relationships with surgeon office staff, physicians, coworkers, and interdisciplinary departments.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, collaboration, and a customer service-focused approach when supporting surgeons and clinical staff.
  • Utilizes knowledge of surgical procedures, medical terminology, and surgical terminology to support accurate scheduling and coordination.
  • Applies computer and scheduling system expertise to maintain accurate case information and support efficient workflow management.
  • Ensures all scheduling activities are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with departmental guidelines and operational needs.

Surgery Scheduling Coordinator - Pre-Surgical Services

Part Time Day Shift - TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital

Location:

375 Dixmyth Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45220

Work Schedule:
  • Part Time Days - (40 hours bi-weekly)
  • Three 8-hour shifts one week and two 8-hour shifts the next week
  • 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • No weekends, holidays or call requirements
Job Overview:

Coordinates the scheduling of elective and urgent procedures, including private and service cases, while ensuring alignment with surgery and cystoscopy schedules. Arranges pre-admission and pre-procedure testing in accordance with departmental and hospital guidelines and communicates critical patient and procedural information to appropriate departments such as Bed Assignment, Specialty Coordinators, and Pre-Surgical Services. Maintains accurate documentation of physician concerns and scheduling issues, including instances when provider preferences cannot be accommodated, while serving as a key liaison to support efficient patient flow and seamless procedural coordination.
