We are currently seeking candidates with exceptional customer service skills to join our team as a Surgery Scheduling Coordinator. You will be working with a team of professionals for a well-known, highly regarded dermatology practice that puts our patients above all else.

Duties include:

  1. Review weekly provider schedules to maximize utilization of provider availability.
  2. Monitor Biopsy log for accuracy, timely receipt of results, and treatment of positive lesions within 4-6 weeks of confirmed diagnosis.
  3. Initiate skin cancer tracking; contact patients by phone; send letters promptly.
  4. Obtain precertification and prior authorizations in a timely manner.
  5. Schedule MOHS and cancer treatment surgeries.
  6. Maintain OSHA compliance.
  7. Perform patient call backs on the same day of contact.
  8. Assist physicians/mid-level providers with patient care.
  9. Document appropriately in medical records.
  10. Contact patients via phone/mail to confirm upcoming surgeries; ensure all paperwork is completed prior to surgery.
  11. Develop good working relationships with the Location Manager and Regional Supervisor.

Requirements include:

  • At least one year of dermatology experience.
  • MA certificate of completion/diploma from a medical vocational program.
  • RN, LPN degree or diploma with current active license or certification.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of vital signs.
  • Working knowledge of dermatologic surgery and sterile techniques.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Computer literacy.
