Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collects patient clinical and demographic data and insurance information and verifies payer coverage.
• Arranges for support services and ensures written orders for homecare are obtained.
• Oversees clerical staff to assure accurate data entry, phone answering, and management of clinical records.
• Ensures staff coverage and coordinates referrals to maintain efficient operations.
• Enters referrals into the computer and verifies information prior to admission.
• Performs payer verification for Medicare eligibility and insurance or self-pay verification.
• Acts as liaison between clinicians and clinical teams to ensure timely patient scheduling.
• Maintains logs for patients hospitalized or in skilled facilities.
• Liaises with billing to troubleshoot issues and ensure timely billing.
• Monitors daily clerical operations and delegates responsibilities.
• Coordinates receipt of referrals via initial phone evaluations for appropriateness and acceptance.
