Surgery Scheduler
Children's Plastic Surgery Institute of Florida, A Division of FPA is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduler to join their busy practice.

Qualifications:Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Experience:- Minimum 2 years working as a Surgery Scheduler in a medical practice.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific:- The coordinator will work closely with providers and coordinate their surgeries.
- This position requires a high level of organization and communication skills to ensure that all surgical procedures and patient appointments are handled efficiently
- Additionally, the coordinator will handle patient calls, return messages, notify patients of test results, and schedule follow-up appointments
- The role also involves managing the hospital list of patients, assigning patients to providers, and ensuring that all consults are performed
- The Surgical Coordinator will prepare referrals, obtain authorizations for patients, and document them in the system
- The position requires the ability to relieve other staff members and cover their positions as needed, as well as complete end-of-day processes, ensuring that voicemails are retrieved and handled before leaving
- Scheduling surgeries and managing provider schedules
- Completing beginning of day processes
- Handling patient calls and returning messages
- Notifying patients of test results and instructions from providers
- Scheduling follow-up appointments and making follow-up calls to check on patients post-procedure
- Ensuring all ordered tests and studies have been performed before scheduled visits
- Coordinating inpatient consults, surgeries, procedures, pre-operative testing, surgical clearance, and post-op visits for providers
- Ensuring all consults are performed and adding on procedures and testing as ordered
- Preparing referrals and obtaining authorizations for patients
- Notifying patients of appointments and forwarding clinical data to scheduled facilities
- Coordinating admissions with providers and facilities
- Managing and coordinating provider's surgery schedule
- Relieving other staff members and covering their positions as needed
- Completing end-of-day processes and ensuring voicemails are handled before leaving
- Maintaining medical equipment and ensuring it is calibrated and cleaned
