Job summary

Insight Hospital and Medical Center Chicago is seeking a Surgical Scheduler for a multispecialty outpatient office.

Responsibilities include coordinating procedures with the OR, scheduling, obtaining pre-operative testing, and handling ICD-10/CPT coding. You will work with patients, physicians, and staff to ensure timely, accurate paperwork and documentation while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1+ year of Surgery Scheduling or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Familiar with medical terminology and practice operations.
• Good multitasking and independence in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries and create follow-up appointments per physician directives.
• Coordinate recommendations according to consultations and referrals.
• Process and route paperwork to meet physician and facility requirements.
• Generate pre-certification forms with ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Maintain accurate records and efficient telephone communication.
• Assist patients, physicians, and staff with scheduling and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety policies, and clinic protocols.
