Job summary

Palomar Health Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient flow, document patient responses, and assist clinicians with examinations. You will prepare labs and imaging results, set up exam rooms, and manage patient communications.

Responsibilities include inputting demographics into the EHR, verifying insurance, and coordinating referrals and schedules across multiple locations. A High School Diploma or GED and Medical Assistant certificate are required, with BLS

Qualifications

Ability to speak and read English at a level sufficient to perform essential functions.
Knowledge of standard office equipment and PC software (MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
Proficient keyboarding and computer skills within two weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

Facilitate patient flow and gather pertinent information.
Document patient response, prepare lab/x-ray results, and set up exam rooms.
Assist physicians with procedures and examinations; report changes in patient condition.
Input patient information into the EHR accurately.
Verify insurance and process authorizations.
Schedule procedures and coordinate referrals.
Maintain and update physician schedules to ensure proper patient appointments.
