Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills are essential.
• Knowledge of insurance verification, pre-authorizations, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology preferred.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office is preferred.
• Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgeries for physicians and patients.
• Contact patients regarding surgery dates, instructions, and required testing.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations for surgeries, facilities, and DME.
• Schedule procedures within the EMR system and maintain accurate documentation.
• Communicate with surgery centers, vendors, and physician offices to ensure all required paperwork is completed.
• Send surgery information and pre-op instructions to patients.
• Maintain organized surgery records and scan documentation into the EMR.
• Respond promptly to phone calls, faxes, and messages.
• Support a positive patient experience throughout the surgical scheduling process.
