Job summary

OrthoAtlanta in Brookhaven is hiring a Surgery Scheduler to manage surgical calendars, coordinate with surgical teams, and act as the main liaison for patients and providers. This on-site, full-time role emphasizes accuracy, patient-centered communication, and efficient care coordination.

You will verify insurance, maintain Epic EMR schedules, and collaborate with front office and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient journeys in a fast-paced orthopedic practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience.
• Working knowledge of medical insurance and terminology.
• Experience with electronic medical records (Epic preferred).
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong time management skills.
• A calm, professional presence under pressure and in fast-paced settings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• A positive, can-do attitude and commitment to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries, procedures, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments per physician orders and patient needs.
• Act as the primary point of contact for surgical patients, providing information and answering questions.
• Coordinate with Surgical Assistants, operating rooms, and providers to ensure availability of staff, special equipment, and materials.
• Confirm insurance authorizations and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
• Maintain detailed and accurate schedules in the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with front office and clinical staff to ensure smooth transitions of care.
