Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Surgery Scheduler at our surgery center, you will be responsible for scheduling patient surgical procedures and maintaining the surgery schedule, contributing to our mission, vision, and values.

What you will do in this role:

• Obtain CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis codes and other clinical information as required by the physician’s office.
• Prepare documentation for Medicare Non-covered Services or Advance Beneficiary Notices and notify physicians’ offices about these procedures.
• Complete chart requests from Medical Records and notify the Materials or Nurse Manager of any special requests or equipment needed.
• Determine surgery durations and collaborate with OR nurses to streamline daily schedules.
• Maintain the center's block schedule and arrange anesthesia coverage.
• Notify physicians’ offices of open schedule times for additional cases.

Qualifications:

• Minimum one year of experience in a medical office setting.
• One year of medical scheduling experience highly preferred.
