Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center is seeking a motivated Advanced Practice Provider to join our cardiovascular surgery team.

You will perform endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting to provide conduits for complex revascularization procedures, and act as a first assistant in CABG and valve cases. The role, full-time days with rotating on-call, is based in Indiana and offers a sign-on bonus and the resources of a major health system.

Qualifications

• Physician Assistant credentialed from NCCPA obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Indiana PA Committee credential obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Perform endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting to provide high-quality conduits for revascularization procedures.
• Serve as surgical First Assistant on cases including CABG and valve repair/replacement.
• Collaborate with a team of APPs and physicians in a busy cardiovascular surgery setting.

Join an established team of 12 APPs

Schedule: (4) 10-hour shifts/week

Call structure: Daily, Weekend and Holiday On-Call assignments are split evenly among a team of 12 surgical PA’s.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Physician Assistant credentialed from the Indiana Physician Assistant Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• ~ Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Work Experience:
• ~ Endoscopic Vein & Radial Artery harvest using the Maquet Vasoview Hemopro I and/or Hemopro II systems.
• Surgical First assistant: cases include CABG, aortic and mitral valve repair/replacement, ECMO Insertion, VAD insertion & heart transplant cases.
