Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) in Arizona is seeking a Surgery Procedure Coordinator to orchestrate surgical procedures, coordinate physician schedules, ORs, anesthesia, and staff, and manage pre/post-operative information and insurance authorizations.

You will act as a liaison among patients, physicians, and care teams, ensuring accurate registration in IDX and secure authorizations, while upholding efficient clinic operations and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year coordinating operating rooms, anesthesia, equipment, labs, imaging, authorizations, and physician schedules for surgeries.
• Ability to effectively interact with insurance carriers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operating rooms, equipment, anesthesia, pre-op labs and imaging, authorizations, and physician schedule for surgeries.
• Act as a liaison between patient, provider/referring physician, primary care physician, and others involved in the surgery to share pre/post-operative information.
• Gather and record financial and insurance information and ensure authorizations are obtained prior to the procedure.
• Complete full patient registration in IDX and ensure patient information is updated and current during follow-ups.
• Verify insurance eligibility and/or benefits.
• Utilize IDX according to policy for patient registration, scheduling, template oversight, posting payments, charge reconciliation, and reporting issues.
