Job summary

San Luis Valley Health in Alamosa, CO is seeking a Materials Coordinator for the Surgery department. The role handles clerical support and procurement of materials for peri-operative services, with daily stock orders and PAR level management.

You will generate purchase orders, manage implant logs, coordinate instrument maintenance, and work with Biomed to ensure equipment is checked and approved for use. This position supports department efficiency and patient care.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• Basic Life Support – American Heart Association required.
• Computer and data entry skills.
• One year of peri-operative equipment purchasing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Daily order for stock/non stock items throughout the surgery department.
• Deliver daily items and manage PAR levels with monitoring of expiration dates.
• Manage and place orders for surgeon requests (equipment, instruments, implants).
• Ensure all equipment owned, leased, trialed is checked and approved by Biomed.
• Generate purchase orders/cost breakdown of items ordered.
• Maintain/monitor implant logs and inventory.
• Coordinate instrumentation ordering and maintenance for the department.
