Job description

General Surgery opening in Sioux City, IA

Job Description:

  1. Established General Surgery practice
  2. Flexible schedule to meet provider's needs
  3. Current team: 3 Physicians, 2 APPs
  4. Competitive compensation and benefits package including sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, 401k with employer match, etc.
  5. Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who know the patients well
  6. Fully staffed team of RNs and CMAs
  7. Clinic and OR located on the same campus
  8. Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
  9. Average patients per day: 12 in clinic and 3 in OR
  10. 5 half days in clinic with OR time scheduled as needed
  11. Trauma call shared with three other physicians
  12. Requires excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  13. Ability to work as a team member to improve community health
  14. Provide the best outcome for every patient, every time

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified
  • Hold an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Iowa
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

About the Hospital:

  • Level 3 Trauma Center with a 21-bed emergency room
  • Advanced diagnostic and interventional care including EP and Cardiac Cath Labs
  • Hospitalist Program and open 18-bed ICU
  • Rehabilitation services for inpatients and outpatients
  • Comprehensive radiology including MRI and CT
  • Inpatient and outpatient GI services with modern labs
  • Level 2 NICU and full-service OB/GYN unit
  • New surgical suites with full services and EPIC EMR
