Job description

My name is Jason Long with ProTouch Healthcare.

I have a client in Northwestern Iowa looking for General Surgery coverage and call rotation. This assignment has strong potential for full-time conversion.
Details:

• ASAP start and ongoing assignment
• Reason for Coverage: 3 of the 5 general-trauma surgeons have left the community due to retirement/relocation.
• Dates of Coverage: Looking for 1 to 2 weeks per month ongoing while we recruit for perm.
• Schedule: 24 hours on call + callback + rounding
• Call Schedule: 7a to 7a Friday to Friday
• Average Number of Trauma Surgical Cases Per Day: 1
• Trauma Level/Designation: Level 2
• Annual ER Volume: 25,000+
• Documentation System/EMR: Cerner powerchart
• Description of OR Staff: Fully staffed
• Patient Age Demographic: Primarily adult-geriatric.

Practice Setting:

• Hospital setting to include trauma/general surgery call
• Will also round on current patients
• There will also be a day or 1/2 day of clinic to see hospital follow up patients
• The clinic is located in the hospital.

Required Procedures:

• BLUNT Trauma Cases
• PENETRATING Trauma Cases
• Trauma Cases GERIATRIC
• Trauma Cases ADULT

Laparoscopic Procedures Required:

• Appendectomy
• Cholecystectomy
• Nissen Fundoplication
• Hernioplasty

Requirements:

• Board Certificate General Surgery
• IA State License - (Can accept willing/needing to obtain State License)
