Ideal Candidate

Candidates ideally reside in the Austin or San Antonio area, but can also consider Houston or Dallas. If willing to relocate from out of state, must already be licensed in Texas. Orthopedists should be comfortable being generalists, with specialties in knees, shoulders, and spine preferred. The role involves remote work 90% of the time, with 4-5 days of travel within Texas per month. Not open to candidates right out of fellowship.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, applying evidence-based orthopedic care.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders, including complex fractures, joint disorders, and soft tissue injuries.
  • Develop and implement individualized, patient-centered care plans, including surgical and non-surgical options.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging and lab results to guide diagnosis and treatment.
  • Conduct advanced orthopedic surgical procedures, such as joint replacements, arthroscopic surgeries, and fracture repairs.
  • Prescribe and oversee rehabilitation therapies, medications, and post-operative care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for holistic patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, documenting histories, examinations, procedures, and plans.
  • Uphold ethical and legal standards, ensuring trust and professionalism.
  • Stay informed of advancements in orthopedic medicine and incorporate innovative techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.

Qualifications:

  • Active, in-good-standing medical license in Texas.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedics.
  • Preferably 2+ years of practice experience.
  • Strong diagnostic, procedural, and surgical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current BLS and DEA certifications.
  • Spanish skills are a plus but not required.

  • Manage time efficiently in a busy clinical setting.
  • Complete notes and charting accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and ethical standards.
