Job description

Seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Bread & Butter General Surgeon to join our hospital-employed, highly productive team.

• Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
• Call schedule: 1:5, including 1 weekday and 1 weekend per month.

• Case Load

• • Office
    • 20-30 patients per day
    • 10 exam rooms and 2 procedure rooms
    • Office procedures include removal of lipomas, cysts, and skin cancers
  • Operating Room
    • Bread and Butter surgeries
    • 8-15 surgeries per week; no trauma, endoscopy preferred

• Equipment

• • State-of-the-art radiologic equipment, including mammography and MRI
  • New generation DaVinci Robot coming soon

2-year contract includes:

• Vacation: 29 PTO days; an additional 5 days for those producing at the 75th percentile wRVUs
• CME/Books & Journals: 5 days PTO and up to $5,000
• Deferred compensation: 457(b) plan, up to IRS limit of $22,500 per year before taxes; no employer match
• Retirement/Savings Plan: 403(b) plan, with deferred compensation up to IRS limits ($22,500 under age 50; $30,000 over age 50). SOMC matches dollar for dollar up to 2% of base pay.
• Moving Expenses: $10,000 paid to moving company

• Additional Benefits:

• Malpractice insurance: claims-made, coverage of $1,000,000 per claim / $3,000,000 aggregate
• Health insurance: small premium deducted from paycheck
• Liquidated damages: 70-mile non-compete for 2 years or liquidated damages of one year's salary
• Medical school loan repayment: up to $200,000 ($25,000 per year of service)
• Residency stipend: up to $25,000 (requires up to 2-year service commitment)
• Sign-on bonus: 15% of base salary up to $100,000, paid at signing and forgiven over 2-4 years depending on bonus amount
• Bonus incentives: up to 10% of salary
