Located in Norton, VA - Kingsport 45m, Abingdon 50m

• Full-time, permanent position

Requirements: General bread & butter surgery experience and advanced laparoscopic skills required. Minimally invasive skills a plus. If board-eligible, board certification must be completed within five years of residency completion.

Practice Philosophy: Our goal is to find a general surgeon who shares our philosophy of accommodating patients at home and avoiding unnecessary transfers. The hospital offers significant flexibility to meet the needs of the new physician.

Facility Details: The hospital is a 129-bed facility, part of a network of 22 facilities, serving a population of 75,000 to 100,000 across southwestern Virginia and southeastern Kentucky. It is the largest healthcare provider in the region, with a history as the first AOA-accredited teaching hospital in Virginia, hosting Internal Medicine residents.

Services include primary care clinics, an OSHA-certified pulmonary rehabilitation facility for coal mine-related respiratory issues, and extensive surgical capabilities.
