Job summary

Colonial Group in Peoria, AZ is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure safe handling of surgical instruments. You will decontaminate, assemble, package, and sterilize instruments and sets in accordance with IFU and department policy.

You will operate autoclaves, ETO and plasma sterilizers, maintain logs, and respond to OR requests with timely, professional service. Strong organization and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and BLS certification required.
• Current national certification as SPD Technician or equivalent.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and ability to break down, clean, lubricate and reassemble instruments.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, assembles and packages instruments; repairs and reassembles as needed.
• Maintains clean, safe environment per infection control procedures and PPE usage.
• Identifies instruments, repairs or replaces non-functioning items; assembles sets.
• Operates steam autoclaves, ETO and Gas Plasma sterilizers; logs sterilization records.
• Responds to OR calls; prioritizes instrument requests and supports timely OR throughput.
