Job summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) OR at Northwest Tucson Surgery Center provides patient-centered perioperative care across the nursing process and physician orders. The role includes coordinating with surgeons and the care team to ensure patient safety and high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Responsibilities include pre- and post-operative assessments, medication administration, procedure assistance, and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in a clinical nursing role or student rotations in acute care.
• RN license in good standing and Basic Life Support (BCLS) required.
• ACLS preferred but not mandatory; ability to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process and physician orders.
• Administer medications, monitor effects, and document outcomes.
• Assist surgeons during procedures and maintain sterile perioperative environment.
• Coordinate care plans with the healthcare team and educate patients and families.
• Participate in safety, infection control, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain accurate medical records and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
