Job summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient-centered care in the OR, coordinating with surgeons, anesthesia, and the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient procedures. You’ll assess patients, monitor vitals, administer medications, and support planning from pre-op through post-operative recovery in Northwest Tucson Surgery Center on the Northwest Medical Center Campus.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
• RN licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred
• Experience in operating room nursing and perioperative care preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with nursing process and policies.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings accurately.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects as part of perioperative care.
• Assists physicians during procedures within trained competency and scope of practice.
• Collaborates with the surgical team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Monitors patient vitals and responds to emergencies as needed.
• Documents patient care thoroughly in the medical record.
• Maintains infection control protocols and safe environment for patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and compliance activities.
• OR Services RN: provides comprehensive care before, during, and after surgery, and scrubs in for procedures.
