Job description

As the Surgery Center Coordinator, you will be responsible for scheduling procedures, patient registration, collecting insurance information and payments, and verifying patient documentation. You will also greet patients, vendors, and visitors at the Surgery Center.


This position is based at our new Plymouth Surgery Center, opening in fall 2025. The role requires flexibility to float to other sites as needed. Shifts are 8 hours, Monday through Friday.


Start date will be determined based on experience.


  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients by answering calls and providing excellent customer service.
  • Prepare and review patient medical charts, including histories, physicals, clinic notes, labs, and radiology reports.
  • Order supplies and forms as needed.
  • Verify and update patient personal and insurance information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Register new patients, obtaining demographics, insurance details, and payment information, and verify insurance eligibility.
  • Enter case history into the electronic medical record, audit for accuracy, and file completed records.
  • Coordinate communication with other departments to resolve issues.
  • Search and schedule appointments that meet patient needs, confirming details with patients.
  • Work with physician teams to triage patient issues and determine the need for same-day appointments.
  • Arrange interpreters for non-English speaking or deaf patients.
  • Follow established scheduling protocols and handle patient complaints appropriately.
  • Identify and report errors on patient accounts to management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient communications.
  • Print and distribute the surgery schedule.

Our hiring range for this role is $20.23 to $25.29 per hour. Compensation may include bonuses, differentials, and deferred rewards. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k)/profit sharing plan. Final salary depends on skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
