Job summary

Qualifications

The Surgery Assistant enhances patient focused care by assisting the nursing

staff with direct and indirect nursing care activities. The Surgery Assistant

receives functional direction and guidance from the Registered Nurse and as

assigned by the Unit Coordinator or Designee.

Qualifications

• Education:

High School graduate or equivalent required upon hire or transfer to the

department

• Training and Experience:
• Listed with Texas Department of Nurse Aid Registry preferred.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification that follows the

American Heart Association guidelines required within ninety (90)

days of hire or transfer to department.

hire or transfer from another department.
