Job summary

Penn State Health's Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery seeks an accomplished Surgeon-Scientist to serve as Vice Chair for Research. The ideal candidate will maintain an independent research program, lead the department's research strategy, and provide mentorship.

Candidates from all otolaryngology subspecialties are encouraged to apply, with opportunities to collaborate across Penn State College of Medicine, Penn State Health, and related institutes.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MD-PhD or equivalent degree required.
• Completion of an accredited Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery training program.
• Board certification in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor faculty and trainees in research and clinical work.
• Develop new research initiatives and expand extramural funding.
• Foster multidisciplinary collaborations across Penn State entities.
• Oversee strategy and mentorship in research for the department.
