Job Description

The Surgical Technologist will work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room at Sunrise Hospital, which has 23 OR suites, including 4 dedicated to cardiovascular procedures. This position requires expertise in vein harvesting, especially endoscopic vein harvesting, and strong cardiovascular experience in an FA capacity. Typical procedures include CABG, AVR, MVR, and vascular surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assist in on-pump cardiac cases as a First Assistant.
• Perform endoscopic vein harvesting as needed.
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgeries.
• Support the surgical team with instruments and equipment during procedures.
• Document procedures and patient information as required by EMR.

Required Experience

• 2 to 3 years of cardiovascular (CV) First Assistant experience, including open-heart and vascular experience.
• Experience in pediatric cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) settings is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) First Assistant (FA) certification required.
• Registered Nurse First Assistant (RN FA) certification is also acceptable.
