Job summary

Flanigan’s in Surfside, FL is seeking friendly servers to welcome guests, take orders, serve meals, and assist with dining room duties. You will ensure timely delivery, accurate billing, and attentive, personable service.

Candidates must stand for long periods, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and communicate clearly in English. Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand/walk 100% of shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when handling plates and supplies.
• Clear verbal and written English communication.
• Must pass Florida Responsible Vendor program and food safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Support staff in maintaining table appearance and running food/drinks.
• Be knowledgeable about menus and promotions and answer guest questions.
• Accurately write guest orders and enter into POS in a timely manner.
• Deliver orders from kitchen/bar to guests promptly.
• Assess guest demeanor and summon a Manager when needed.
• Handle payments and ensure correct transactions using POS.
• Perform shift changes and closing duties; complete sidework.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.

Overview

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
