Job summary

KLA in Milpitas, California is seeking a seasoned applications engineer to support laser scanning wafer inspection products and contribute to next‑generation platforms.

You will act as an applications expert during development and characterization, engage with customers at facilities or demos, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with marketing, engineering and service teams to ensure top‑notch customer support. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher with related work experience.
• Hands-on experience with darkfield inspection systems.
• Experience with Python scripting and ML basics.
• Strong technical, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for supporting laser scanning wafer inspection products.
• Acts as applications expert during the development & characterization of next-generation products.
• Effectively engages with customers to showcase product performance at customer facilities or during in-house demonstrations of prototype platforms.
• Goes above and beyond to prove technical superiority of KLA tools over competitor tools during head-to-head evaluations.
• Works closely with multiple functional groups within KLA, including marketing, engineering and service teams, to ensure a smooth customer support experience.
• Acts as technical lead to develop new use cases and as mentor to local application engineers.
• Tracks all critical projects in real time and provides timely updates to management.
