Job summary

KLA in Milpitas, CA is seeking a senior software sustaining engineer for Surfscan product lines. You will own software reliability, guide improvements, triage customer issues, and coordinate cross‑site teams in the US and India.

The role requires 7+ years in software development, strong C++/C#, Windows/Linux, CI/CD, and experience with AI-assisted root‑cause analysis. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in software development, sustaining, validation, or escalations for high-reliability systems.
• Strong programming and debugging skills in C++, C#, Python; experience on Windows and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Lead senior-level software sustaining, continuous improvement, and escalation resolution for Surfscan lines.
• Drive improvements across current and legacy Surfscan platforms and product families.
• Triages customer problems, reproduces use cases, performs root-cause analysis, and documents fixes.
• Coordinate across multi-site teams in the U.S. and India to resolve issues and deliver solutions.
• Define validation strategies, tests, and release evidence with development and test teams.
