Job summary

Richard, Wayne & Roberts in Houston is seeking a Wellhead Surface Engineer to join an innovative team developing next-generation wellhead products for domestic operations.

You will design, develop, and improve surface wellhead products, collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams, and drive projects from concept through validation to production, in a fast-paced entrepreneurial setting with leadership mentoring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience designing surface wellhead, pressure control, or related oilfield equipment.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Understanding of API 6A and pressure-containing equipment.
  • Experience with product development, mechanical design, FEA, GD&T, or testing.
  • Strong communication skills and collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Self-motivated in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and improve surface wellhead products and pressure control equipment.
  • Support new product development from concept through design validation and commercialization.
  • Create engineering drawings, models, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, operations, and field teams to deliver solutions.
  • Support customer-specific engineering requirements and product enhancements.
  • Participate in design reviews, testing, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards and engineering best practices.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

  • Experience designing surface wellhead, pressure control, or related oilfield equipment.
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Understanding of API 6A and pressure-containing equipment preferred.
  • Experience with product development, mechanical design, FEA, GD&T, engineering calculations, or testing is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams.
