The Senior Design Engineer at Well Master is responsible for new product design, project management, research and development, ongoing product improvements, and drawing creation. This role is for creative, self-motivated individuals who bring authentic experience and knowledge and are eager to contribute individually and as a team player.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for product development, product changes, and product promotions, including developing procedures, specifications, and packaging instructions for assigned products.
  • Perform FEAs, CFDs, and other analyses to demonstrate that the product meets success criteria.
  • Facilitate in-house functional tests and design jigs and fixtures for product testing.
  • Lead field testing process and provide comprehensive data analysis for project validation.
  • Successfully meet deadlines and keep track of project progress.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors to help facilitate the timely completion of projects.
  • Create and maintain drawings, bill of materials, and analysis reports for new and improved products.
  • Select the most efficient design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvements for existing ones.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process by presenting areas for improvement and possible solutions (DFSS, Six Sigma, Lean/Kaizen).
  • Recommend technology, facility, and equipment requirements or improvements.
  • Works closely with other departments to ensure continuity in product offering, company goals, and customer satisfaction.
  • Be vigilant about Environmental, Safety, and Hazardous Communications requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES
  • The candidate will be comfortable handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be highly organized and self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and fluids or petroleum engineering principles is preferred.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must possess exceptional computer skills in MS Office and SolidWorks.
  • Must know machining and assembly practices, tools, and fixtures.
  • Must have manufacturing processes and methods expertise to ensure cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency through design.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to conduct group presentations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in mechanical engineering or similar disciplines.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in product design.
  • Electrical background/experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with building circuit boards, sensors, and controls design is highly preferred.
  • Experience with international projects is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Requires use of hands and arms at least 60% of the time.
  • Time is mainly spent sitting, with some standing and walking.
  • Lifting requirements are generally less than 10 lbs. Manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 65 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Most of the time is spent in a climate-controlled office and less in a manufacturing environment.
  • Noise exposure is moderate.
MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are necessary to perform the job functions.
  • Peripheral vision is required for safety.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Base Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 annually
  • Choice of health care plans with company contribution towards premiums

  • 401(k) plan: Safe Harbor Match – 100% of first 1% contribution and 50% on next 5% contribution – total of 3.5% match on 6% contribution
