Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, based in Norfolk, VA, seeks a C4ISR Installation & Modernization – Surface Ship Project Manager to oversee critical modernization programs aboard U.S. Navy ships and installations.

This full-time role requires strong leadership, contract oversight, and collaboration with OSIC teams. You will manage technical, contractual, administrative, and financial aspects, supervise personnel, and ensure safety and compliance while delivering on milestones in a complex DoD

Qualifications

Active SECRET clearance.
Six years of experience in C4ISR ship modernization project planning and execution.
Four or more years specialized experience: leading recovery activity.
Experience supporting Navy/DoD quality programs in ship repair.
Experience using blueprints to manage large-scale cableway installations.
Experience managing vendors and subcontractors for Navy programs.
Experience using MS Project to support Navy installation programs.
Ability to make independent judgments in project management and problem solving.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of field and/or task-level project performance (technical, contractual, administrative, financial).
Supervise personnel, assign responsibilities, and maintain customer contacts to ensure contractual conformity.
Communicate with customers, project teams, and leadership; present status updates and recommendations.
Monitor project performance and intervene as needed with managers and clients.
Draft subcontractor documentation including SOWs, POs, invoices, and monitored work execution.
