Sibanye-Stillwater’s Stillwater Mine in Nye, MT seeks a Supervisor - Surface Operations to lead frontline efforts ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective surface haulage, TSF capping, and water systems. You translate the weekly plan into daily shift assignments, directing operators and sequencing tasks to meet production targets.

You’ll drive safety through pre-shift meetings, enforce permits and environmental controls, coach field crews, and coordinate with UG rail haulage and processing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience under mine safety, environmental controls, and operating procedures.
• Experience with standard office software and electronic production reporting.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in metallurgy, mineral processing, chemical/mining engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience with DCS or process-control systems, metallurgical accounting, shutdowns and incident investigation.
• MSHA-regulated environment experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead pre-shift safety discussions, inspections, permits, and risk assessments.
• Maintain visible field presence and correct unsafe acts.
• Communicate shift plan, production and haulage priorities, and hazards.
• Assign operators and verify qualifications for assigned work.
• Coach employees through field interaction and development discussions.
• Direct and monitor surface haulage, water systems, and related processes across the area.
• Inspect circuits and troubleshoot process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues.
• Escalate changes affecting weekly commitments and compliance.
• Document downtime, process instability, and cost effects.
