Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking a Supervisor for Underground Backfill & Construction at the Stillwater Mine in Nye, MT. The role unlocks weekly plans into shift-ready work, directing backfill, barricades, concrete, piping, and underground service installs.

The position requires leadership, 5+ years in underground hard-rock mining, and relevant certifications. You will ensure compliance, safety, and timely delivery of mine infrastructure with a strong emphasis on teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years underground hard-rock mining experience.
• Ability to obtain required certifications for backfill and construction.
• Leadership experience coordinating crews and contractors.

Responsabilités

• Lead safe, efficient underground backfill and construction execution.
• Convert weekly plan into resource-ready shift work.
• Direct backfill placement, barricade and bulkhead work, concrete, shotcrete, piping, pumping, excavation, fabrication, and underground service installations.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services, and contractors to support mine objectives.
• Verify work readiness and quality, manage variance, escalate constraints, and provide accurate field information for safe sequencing and cost control.
• Monitor crew fitness-for-duty and intervene when needed per approved policies.
• Conduct pre-shift reviews to clarify assignments, hazards, controls, sequence, and resource needs.
• Provide real-time coaching, recognition, and corrective feedback.
• Direct backfill preparation and placement including area readiness, barricades, pipeline routes, material delivery, curing, and release of completed work.
• Oversee underground construction and rehabilitation including excavation, concrete, piping, fittings, ventilation, and mine infrastructure.
• Coordinate with Mine Ops, Maintenance, Technical Services, Supply Chain, and contractors on design, work-front readiness, and turnover.
• Maintain environmental compliance for cementitious materials, water, spills, dust, and waste.
