Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing is seeking a Surface Mount Assembly Technician in Northern Alabama to operate SMT equipment and assemble PCBA's for diverse defense programs. The role requires familiarity with SMT processes, reading drawings, and performing hand soldering.

You will work with stencil printers, AOI, reflow, and X-ray systems, often under a microscope, and collaborate with multiple project teams to meet daily objectives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to read drawings and follow work instructions.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours daily.
• US Citizen with eligibility for Secret Clearance.
• Resident of Northern Alabama or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Operate SMT equipment including stencil printer, solder paste inspection, pick & place, reflow oven, AOI, X-ray and hand soldering.
• Understand handling of PCB packages such as 0402, 0603, BGA on SMT line.
• Work under a microscope and hand-solder SMT/TH parts.
• Meet day-to-day objectives and contribute to team output.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and production crews.

Leidos' Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing is seeking a Surface Mount Assembly Technician to join our team that runs SMT equipment that produce a variety of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA's).

Primary Responsiblities

• Working knowledge of SMT machines such as: Stencil Printer, Solder Paste Inspection, Pick & Place machine, Reflow Oven, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), X-ray and hand soldering
• Understanding of different electronics packages such as 0402, 0603, BGA's and how they are processed on a SMT line
• Experience working under a microscope
• Hand soldering SMT and Through-hole parts
• Works to achieve day-to-day objectives and have significant impact on the work output.
• Works independently under limited supervision
• Work in team environment and interacting with different functions, project teams and productions teams

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to read drawings and follow work instructions
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours daily.
• Must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance
• Must be a resident of the Northern Alabama area or willing to relocate to the area.

Pre ferred Qualifications

• Surface Mount Technology experience or related electronics assembly experience
• Knowledge of SMT processes used to build Printed Circuit Board Assemblies
• Current or prior certification in IPC-A-610.
• Current or prior certification in J-STD-001.
• Experience on SMT equipment and hand soldering

Pay Range

Pay Range: Pay Range $35,100.00 - $63,450.00
