Job summary

PacifiCorp seeks a maintenance supervisor for a surface mine location to oversee daily maintenance operations, lead a skilled team, and ensure safe, efficient equipment performance. The role emphasizes adherence to mine plans, safety rules, and regulatory requirements, with strong emphasis on coaching and developing staff.

The position requires a Mine Foreman certification and extensive knowledge of mining equipment, along with leadership and excellent communication to coordinate across shifts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of progressive maintenance experience in mine operations and/or engineering.
• Working knowledge of surface mining/maintenance methods, operations and procedures.
• Mine Foreman certification.
• Strong technical knowledge of haulage trucks, dozers, scrapers, motor graders, loaders, draglines and large drills.
• Leadership and teamwork to develop cooperative working relationships across shifts and departments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate employees.
• Ability to teach and hold others to standards.
• Knowledge of company strategic plan, maintenance dept. objectives and applicable regulations.
• Basic computer skills including e-mail and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and troubleshoot equipment; lead maintenance team.
• Ensure safety by daily area inspections and safety meetings.
• Train personnel in operation and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain repair logs, order parts and coordinate with supervisors.
• Promote safety and ensure compliance with mine plans and regulations.
• Establish accountability and develop maintenance staff through coaching and reviews.
• Comply with union agreements and document inspection/hazard logs.
