Qualifications

International Minerals Carlsbad LLC is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Maintenance Person to perform maintenance services on operating equipment within assigned work areas.

This position is responsible for troubleshooting process equipment, completing preventive and predictive maintenance activities, and supporting the Maintenance and Reliability program. The ideal candidate has industrial maintenance experience, works effectively with minimal supervision, and demonstrates sound judgment, initiative, and a strong commitment to teamwork and workplace safety.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance services on operating equipment within assigned work areas.
• Troubleshoot process equipment and identify mechanical or operational issues.
• Complete preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Participate in the Maintenance and Reliability program to help maximize plant efficiency and equipment availability.
• Inspect equipment, identify deficiencies, and take appropriate corrective action.
• Use forklifts, cutting equipment, arc welders, power tools, and other equipment required to complete assigned work.
• Communicate and coordinate maintenance activities with coworkers, supervisors, Operations, and other departments.
• Follow work instructions, maintenance procedures, safety requirements, and established operating practices.
• Monitor equipment performance and report recurring problems or reliability concerns.
• Plan and organize assigned work while responding appropriately to changing maintenance priorities.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
• Support plant safety, environmental compliance, production, product quality, and cost-performance objectives.
• Demonstrate initiative, accountability, leadership, and effective teamwork.
• Perform additional maintenance and operational duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or trade school education preferred.
• Three years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Recent potash-industry maintenance experience is highly desirable.
• Current certification or ability to become certified to operate forklifts, cutting equipment, arc welders, and power tools.
• Ability to understand and explain process interactions, equipment capabilities, and operational constraints.
• Ability to follow instructions, analyze equipment conditions, monitor processes, and learn new procedures.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Strong planning, scheduling, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to identify and correct problems and accept responsibility for assigned work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong team orientation and willingness to support plant safety, environmental, production, quality, and cost objectives.
• Ability to use the tools and equipment required to perform assigned maintenance duties.

Physical Requirements

The Maintenance Person must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
• Using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and industrial maintenance equipment.
• Distinguishing colors required for equipment, wiring, warning indicators, and safety-related information.
• Occasionally working from elevated platforms or baskets up to 100 feet above ground level.

Work Environment

This position works on site within an active mining and industrial operation. The Maintenance Person must be comfortable working around operating equipment, industrial processes, elevated areas, and changing environmental conditions. Compliance with all required personal protective equipment, safety procedures, training, and site-access requirements is mandatory.
