Job summary

Ultima Genomics in Fremont, CA is seeking a Technician II, Surface Chemistry to produce and develop critical reagents essential to medical and life sciences applications. This onsite full-time Saturday-Wednesday contract is based in our Fremont, CA office.

You will conduct process optimizations, perform reactions and assays, and work in a multidisciplinary team of chemists, biochemists, molecular biologists, and engineers to drive company goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum AA/AS degree in chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering, materials science, or a closely related field, with relevant hands- on laboratory experience.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience. Exceptional new undergraduates with relevant academic research experience will be considered.
• Proven hands- on experience working in a wet lab environment in an academic research or industry setting.
• Fast learner with a strong sense of urgency, a can-do attitude, and motivation to get the best out of team and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct process optimizations to ensure final formulations conform to internal specifications with respect to downstream performance, stability, and reproducibility
• Independently execute various reactions, assays, QCs and experiments to characterize the physicochemical properties of new and established particle formulations
• Spend most working hours in the lab (90% lab work, 10% computer work)
• Work in a multidisciplinary environment comprising chemists, biochemists, molecular biologists, and engineers to drive toward company goals
• Other duties as assigned
