Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a qualified clinician to conduct Supports Intensity Scale assessments (SIS-A) for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and SIS-C when applicable. You will clearly communicate the purpose of assessments and build professional relationships with individuals, families, guardians, and community partners.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a human service field, 1+ year experience with IDD, knowledge of behavior rating and psych testing, and a reliable home

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Experience with conducting individual assessments and knowledge of behavior rating or psychological testing principles.
  • Knowledge and experience with person-centered approaches.
  • Must have broadband internet at home (no dial-up).
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Active, unrestricted license.
  • Reliable transportation and active auto insurance.
  • Confidential workspace for PHI.
  • Familiarity with Zoom/Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct SIS–A assessments and, when applicable, SIS–C assessments for children.
  • Communicate the purpose and rationale for assessments clearly to stakeholders.
  • Travel throughout Virginia to administer assessments at various locations, including homes and provider sites.
  • Document assessment information consistently and professionally.
  • Develop and evaluate processes to improve operations and ensure performance measures.
  • Represent the organization and the client professionally.

Job description

  • Conduct Supports Intensity Scale – Adult Version™ (SIS-A™) 2nd edition assessments and state supplemental questions
  • Conduct Supports Intensity Scale Children version assessments when applicable
  • Participate in AAIDD training and pass an IRQR following training and annually thereafter
  • Clearly communicate the purpose and reason for assessments
  • Build positive and professional relationships with individuals, families, guardians, provider staff, internal and external customers, and community partners
  • Conduct assessments in a timely and professional manner
  • Complete and document assessment information consistently
  • Represent PCG and the client professionally
  • Develop and evaluate processes and procedures to improve operations
  • Establish and execute defined goals and objectives to ensure compliance with performance measures
  • Travel throughout Virginia for assessments, with occasional overnight stays
  • Conduct assessments at individual-selected locations, including homes, provider agencies, case manager offices, day support programs, licensed residential providers, or virtually
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in human service-related field such as Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Sociology
  • At least one year’s experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Experience conducting individual assessments with knowledge of behavior rating or psychological testing principles
  • Knowledge and experience with person-centeredness
  • Must have broadband internet connection at home (no dial-up)
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Active, unrestricted license
  • Reliable transportation and active auto insurance
  • Dedicated home workspace committed to confidentiality of PHI
  • Comfortable and familiar with technology including virtual meeting technology (Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, behavioral support, and Virginia waiver programs strongly desired
  • Strong clinical/social assessment and critical thinking skills required
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools and/or other online data entry
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to the program
