Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a qualified assessor to conduct Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) assessments for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Virginia. The role includes communicating assessment purposes clearly, building professional relationships with clients and teams, and documenting results with confidentiality.

Travel across Virginia is required, with occasional overnight stays depending on assessment locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field such as Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Sociology.
• At least 1 year of experience with individuals with IDD.
• Experience conducting individual assessments with knowledge of behavior rating or psychological testing principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct SIS assessments for adults and, when applicable, children.
• Schedule and travel across Virginia to assessment locations.
• Explain purpose of assessments clearly to individuals and respondents.
• Maintain confidentiality and document assessment information accurately.

Job description

• Conduct Supports Intensity Scale–Adult Version assessments and state supplemental questions with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Conduct Supports Intensity Scale–Children Version assessments when applicable
• Participate in AAIDD training and pass an IRQR after training and annually thereafter to conduct assessments independently
• Clearly communicate the purpose and reason for assessments to individuals and respondents
• Foster professional relationships and act as liaison with internal and external customers
• Conduct assessments promptly and professionally
• Consistently complete and document assessment information
• Represent PCG and the client professionally
• Travel throughout Virginia, with occasional overnight stays based on assessment locations and travel time
• Conduct assessments at locations selected by the individual and their team, including homes, provider agencies, case manager offices, day support programs, residential providers, or virtually

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human service-related field such as Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Sociology
• At least one year’s experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Experience conducting individual assessments with knowledge of behavior rating or psychological testing principles
• Knowledge and experience with person-centeredness
• Must have broadband internet connection at home (no dial-up)
• Must be willing to travel
• Active, unrestricted license
• Reliable transportation and active auto insurance
• Dedicated home workspace committed to confidentiality of PHI
• Comfortable and familiar with technology including virtual meeting technology (Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
• PCG does not sponsor newly hired foreign national workers for work authorization, including H-1B sponsorship
